Paycheck Deception?

Yesterday at the West County Democrats meeting we were very fortunate & blessed to have Stephen Webber, Missouri Democratic Party Chairman speak to us on his vision to move Missouri forward in getting more Democrats elected in 2018 & beyond.  He is truly a breath of fresh air.  I could see him being a presidential candidate in the future.

He spoke of how unions & all working people in Missouri are under attack by big money.  Stephen related how the Missouri Republican-controlled legislature passed the unAmerican & unjust anti-worker Right to Work (for less) bill.

He mentioned another bill designed to attack workers right to organize…. a Paycheck Deception law.

Paycheck deception laws create unfair regulations. These laws require labor organizations to go through burdensome bureaucratic hoops in order to deduct dues from members’ paychecks and to use that money for political advocacy. No other corporation, CEO, or other organization has similar restrictions.

Here is a link which lists 10 things you should know about Paycheck Deception…..http://blog.workingamerica.org/2013/03/15/10-things-you-should-know-about-paycheck-deception/ <http://blog.workingamerica.org/2013/03/15/10-things-you-should-know-about-paycheck-deception/>

Also we should never forget that big money is behind these anti-worker, unAmerican laws.

Big, bad & corporately-funded ALEC ( American Legislative Exchange Council) is front & center in promoting these family destructive anti-worker laws as evidenced by this actual model bill (see https://www.alec.org/model-policy/public-employee-paycheck-protection-act/ ) that any state can use.  Check out it’s name & see how truly “Deceptive” it is.

We need to put the proper framing on all the good policies Dems have & how bad laws like this are.

It could come to your state.
